Born in Limerick, Blindboy is a writer, musician and storyteller best known for The Blindboy Podcast, an award-winning series that blends folklore, fiction, cultural commentary and humour in the Irish seanchaí tradition. He describes his approach as a “podcast hug”, using conversational storytelling to explore ideas across psychology, politics, science, art and music in an accessible and often reflective way.

His live shows translate that format to the stage, combining storytelling, readings and unscripted digressions, often with surprise guests. The performances have sold out internationally from Toronto to London, and across Australia and New Zealand.

For Queensland audiences, his return to Brisbane is expected to be one of the highlights of the 2027 tour, with his Powerhouse appearance continuing a strong following built from previous Australian visits.

Blindboy’s creative work spans writing, music, screen and documentary. He recently won the Grierson Award for Best Presenter for his documentary The Land of Slaves and Scholars, which he also produced and scored.

The podcast has attracted tens of millions of listens worldwide, with past live guests including Spike Lee, Hozier, Charlotte Church, Paddy Considine and Graham Norton.
