
The O’Donovan Clan celebrated two milestones at the weekend in Skibbereen, West Cork: a commemoration of the epic O’Donovan Gathering of 2000, and the launch of a dynamic new organisation to guide the Clan into the future.


Led by Clan Chief Teige O’Donovan, family members and friends visited the site of iconic Castle Donovan in West Cork, to remember absent and deceased O’Donovans, and to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the largest O’Donovan gathering of the modern era, attended by over 1500 kindred from across the globe.
The weekend also saw the Inaugural Assembly and AGM of the O’Donovan Clan Cultural Association. The mission of the Association is to preserve historic O’Donovan documents, properties, and artefacts, while strengthening cultural ties between Ireland and its global diaspora.
